What is the Lifeline Program?
Lifeline is a government benefit assistance program that provides free cell phone service for eligible customers. It covers monthly data, texting, and monthly minutes. If you receive assistance from Medicaid/Medi-Cal, SNAP/CalFresh, or other government assistance programs, or meet the income guidelines, you may be approved for FREE lifeline phone service.*
To ensure eligible Americans have access to critical communication services the Federal Communication Commission established the Lifeline Assistance service in 1985.

What is ACP?
The Affordable Connectivity Program, or ACP, is a government program that provides discounts on monthly broadband Internet services. Eligible customers can receive upgraded plans that include additional free* data each month.
Congress implemented the Affordable Connectivity Program on December 31, 2021. The programs intended to be a long-term, $14 billion program to replace the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program (EBB) which was launched early 2021 to help COVID-19 impacted Americans stay connected. Eligibility for the ACP will be determined by the National Verifier, administered by the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC).
