Affected Cities: Ashland, Grayson, Olive Hill, Rush, KY; Huntington, WV and additional surrounding areas
Services Affected: Voice, Data, Messaging, HSI

Emergency Services There is no direct impact to Emergency Services equipment.

 

Recent Milestones
10-27-2026 03:19PM PT   Optimum’s downstream provider and their last mile provider vendor repaired damaged fibers which recovered the 17 sites affected at peak of outage. The total impacted customers that had a loss of coverage was 7,435.
10-27-2026 03:17PM PT   The incident seems to be resolved. Verification of all systems is underway. A follow-up Resolved CIM, which includes additional details, will be provided within 15 minutes. Should the problem persist, an Update CIM will be issued accordingly.
10-27-2026 11:41AM PT   Optimum’s downstream provider is continuing to troubleshoot with the last mile provider vendor to isolate the fault. The event in the North Carolina area that was initially suspected as the cause of the outage has been resolved but did not recover the cell sites.
10-27-2026 08:35AM PT   Optimum continues escalating with its downstream provider, which is coordinating with its vendor to resolve a fiber fault. This incident has been escalated to the highest level with Optimum.
10-27-2026 05:41AM PT   Optimum confirmed that the affected cell sites are now fully out of service due to a larger outage on their downstream provider’s network impacting multiple sites across North Carolina. The downstream provider continues to troubleshoot.
10-27-2026 05:24AM PT   Optimum has been engaged for further investigation.

10-27-2026 05:19AM PT Engineers are currently assessing the situation. An update with additional details will be provided within 20 minutes.

Tribally-Administered Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF)

TANF Award letter, should contain the following basic information:

  • Name of the program,
  • Name of the beneficiary
  • Address of the beneficiary
  • Date of the award

Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR)

Notice of Action (award letter) acknowledging eligibility for FDPIR benefits;

  • Name of the beneficiary;
  • The beginning and ending dates of the award or certification period; and
  • The telephone number of the Food Distribution Program office, and the name and address of the person to contact for additional information.
